Dry Forest
Where Conservation and Specialty Coffee Grow Together

At Hacienda La Florida, we believe the future of coffee depends on the health of the ecosystems that make it possible.

The Initiative

That is why we drive an initiative that integrates environmental conservation, sustainable production, and rural development to protect the dry forest of southern Ecuador while strengthening coffee-farming communities.

Our Vision
"Our vision is simple: to demonstrate that agriculture can become a tool to regenerate the landscape and create sustainable economic opportunities for producing families."

100% HLF

Lead Protagonist

We operate, fund, and manage the nursery and local training programs directly.

Conservation

Conservation through Shade-Grown Coffee Farming

We promote shade-grown coffee systems that favor biodiversity, help conserve vegetation cover, and generate a more resilient environment against climate change. This model seeks to reduce pressure on the dry forest and turn coffee farms into spaces where production and nature can coexist.

Capacity Building

Training for Lasting Impact

Knowledge is one of the most valuable tools to build sustainable coffee farming. That is why we develop training programs directed at smallholder producers in key areas:

01

Agronomic Crop Management

Technical assistance for shading, pruning, and soil health.

02

Good Agricultural Practices & Sustainability

Fostering sustainable farming techniques that respect the environment.

03

Selective Harvesting & Quality Control

Picking only ripe cherries to ensure premium cup scores.

04

Wet Milling & Post-Harvest Processing

Optimizing wet processing methods to highlight clean profiles.

05

Consistency & Value Techniques

Empowering farmers to obtain better prices for consistent quality.

Nursery

Seedling Donation to Strengthen the Territory

Through the Hacienda La Florida nursery, we produce high-quality coffee seedlings that are delivered to participating producers as part of renovation and establishment programs for new productive areas. This action contributes to improving farm productivity and promotes more sustainable agricultural systems from their origin.

Market Access

A Showcase for Smallholders

In addition to producing our own coffee, we seek to open opportunities for regional farmers who share our principles of quality and sustainability. We act as a platform that connects these coffees with markets that value fair trade, transparency, and traceability.

We believe in commercial relationships built on trust, recognition of the producer's work, and a more equitable distribution of value generated along the supply chain.
